Garmin Nuvi 285 for Lap timer: Possible?

Is it possible to use Nuvi 285 as a lap timer? im thinking maybe an additional feature which can be downloaded and installed for nuvi and using it for race track purposes.

afaik there is no garmin compatible application yet that can be installed in our garmin unit except for some games that is compatible to nuvi 800/805 and nuvi 5000 series only.
