    Nuvi 265WT (4.3") or Nuvi 1490T (5")

Hello everyone, hope all is well. Pleas help me decide on what to choose between the two. I'm using my Nokia E72 and I would like to upgrade to the real thing My China GPS Car DVD is not accepting/reading our map. It would be my first GPS unit and I've been researching it for the past few days. I'm sure that our map here will work right? Any inputs?

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.

5" screen size is too big for me plus you have to shell out additional ~$80 for 1490t, the additional features of 1490t is useless e.g. Lane assist, Traffic alerts because it is not supported nor available here in the phil.

If you intend to use it here in the Phils., 265W would suffice, not the 265WT. The difference between the two is the free traffic advisory, which we don't have in the phils. anyway. And you will save yourself some money doing so. I should know coz I am selling both. Also, you don't really need the 5" screen 1490. Its to big if you will fix it on your windshield.

if you notice. the older things are usually tougher than the newer one, its just that the newer one have more bells and whistle. as kuya elkabong states, if you dont need those bells and whistle then shelling the extra bucks is a waste.

You can't transfer the 1.24 map to your device yet because of you're being a junior member as of now... You can only view it in mapsource to check for contributions which you plan to submit...start contributing to get a hold of the 1.24 contributors map.

Hello. I've been a Garmin Nuvi 350 user since 2008. Use it mainly in the USA whenever I visit around 1-2x a year. I'm looking to upgrade to a newer model. Since I visit the States often, the lane assist features are useful for me. I know these are not useful in the Philippines. Also, I'd like one with the breadcrumb/1sec tracking feature so that I can help contribute to the forums as well. Hoping for your suggestions.

The 265WT would meet your requirements. And its not expensive. You can get it in the US for $99.00.
