      Open the GarminDevice.xml file in your Nuvi Garmin folder using any Internet browser.
      Find these text - usually at the start of the listing.

      <Model>
      <PartNumber>006-B0932-00</PartNumber>
      <SoftwareVersion>260</SoftwareVersion>
      <Description>nüvi 205W</Description>
      </Model>

      The B0932 number listed at the PartNumber is the HWID, in this case it is 0932 for the Taiwan Nuvi 205W.

            This post answered my Track log problems for the 1350, all 1XXX Nuvi models apparently will work with these instructions.

              To bad for us Nuvi 255w owners that has HWID 1091, some people from other forums share the same problem it seems that Garmin had disabled this functionality for Nuvi255w. So in short i just gave up

                      Well, I think it will not work, it works w/ 200 series Nuvi though but you have to modify the firmware but not w/ 360 I think.

                        I tried the method that was demonstrated in page 2 but it did not work. Is there anything I can do to have this feature? I badly needed it for my off-road work.

                        Thanks again guys

                            If it's just to retrace your way back, how about just using the Trip Log function, if you have it. ie: enable Trip Log to display your path on your screen.

                              I used to have a Nuvi 360... sad to say, but it can't do 1 sec logging.

                                Is there a firmware patch yet to allow 1-sec tracking?
