a cheap datalogger with sd card logging functionality

    does it exist? link?

if possible something that is usb or cigarette lighter powered as well.

    would need to be :
capable of logging data to sd card (sd card would need to be about 4 gig)
    sirfIII or better chipset
    1s logging capability (or better)
usb or cigarette lighter charged (or internal rechargeable battery charged by those)
cheap (did some googling and found all above 100 dollars. can buy a cheap nuvi for that but i want it to be compact.)

    thanks in advance.
How to get the upgraded map.

    It's a sick world and I'm a happy man...

You may consider the Columbus V-900 (i suppose because i have one):

1.)capable of logging data to sd card (sd card would need to be about 4 gig)
sirfIII or better chipset - (new MK 2 chipset), MicroSD storage

2.)1s logging capability (or better) - Yes - (1hz max)

3.)usb or cigarette lighter charged (or internal rechargeable battery charged by those) - Yes

4.)cheap (did some googling and found all above 100 dollars. can buy a cheap nuvi for that but i want it to be compact.) - USD94 when i bought online from semsons (about extra USD18 for door to door shipping to metro manila)

a plus is the the novelty of voice recording for poi's

link / picture / review? (am lazy)

      edit:
got over the laziness and while that unit does look ok at first glance, i kinda dont like the fact thta i have to remove the sd card from the unit in order to read from it.

      any other units out there?

thats true - you can only use the micro usb port for charging and its a pain too take out the card everytime you need to work on your logs.

Sir Jan just realized with Navitel Navigator your long search is now over. Now you can turn any cheapo phone w/ GPS with android or symbian or any other OS (well except your Blackberry) into a cheap datalogger that meets all of your above requirements.(Or you knew about this all along and that's one of the reasons you developed a Navitel compatible map?)

nah wouldnt work. phones are to big compared to tracker.
(not yet speaking about the kids who'd probably confiscate the phone but would leave the tracker alone as "sus another of those stupid gps thingies...")
