FYI, in Australia the phrase for sayang is "such is life", its not a literal translation to sayang but is used the same way, it is also sometimes said in French which is "C'est La Vie" (pronounced Say La Vee). Or as Robbie Nevil translated it in his 1986 hit song "That's just the way it is"....
