How much is the budget? I would have to say go for the Mac if you have the budget. Otherwise get the Toshiba or HP. Toshiba is known for its durability and it's made in Japan. I like HP for their design.

I'm all for a Dell Latitude 2100 Not big but not too small either (unlike the HP Mini-Note) and with rubberized textured exterior, it can surely take a beating.
This netbook is meant for use in the education sector, so the thing is almost built to withstand abuse.
Family's got two of 'em gray-colored ones.
