      Hi,

I'm sorry for the empty file. I used mapset toolkit to view the .img file in mapsource. Then I saved it as .gdb file. I can open it in my computer and transfer it to my device. Maybe I'm missing something here. If you don't mind, I'll just attach the original img file here and maybe you can do something to make it work. Thanks

              Hi Allan,

Just an observation on the empty file. I noticed that when I try to save a routable map (mapset) with mapsource, be it the Phil. routable or the Batangas routable all I get is a shortcut (hence the empty file). Meaning the file I uploaded was a shortcut and not a complete one. I'm just wondering if this is normal or that I should expect to be able to save a complete gdb file (which I think should be the case).

If it is impossible to save a complete gdb file, then how do I contribute a routable map? It seems the only way to do it is to upload the compiled (img) file and for the experts here to do the rest (provide the mapset and integrate it with the main map). Please enlighten me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

                Hi pokz!

I can't help you much because I'm using a Mac and RoadTrip.

About the routable map you would like to share, I'm not sure if it can be easily integrated with our map project (I may be wrong here ).

In the meantime, why don't you just upload your tracks and POIs instead? When your contributions gets integrated in the map's next release, it's routable anyway.

Nah, i think that's normal. When you save the file as a GDB file in Mapsource, all you'd be able to save are your waypoints, routes, and tracks. It will not include the whole map. so, when somebody opens the GDP file, all they'll see are just points (your waypoints) and some lines (tracks or routes) you have created.

@poks, additionally, you may just upload your waypoints and your tracks on the specific thread under UPLOAD YOUR DATA. That way, maybe jan would be able to include those on the next release of the roudguide map.

                      To south point

This is from Sucat to South Point.

headed north towards Sucat, then u turn to SSH. From SSH straight all the way to Cabuyao exit then right, then left at road. On the left side is the Malayan colleges (as seen in Google Earth), then South point Subdivisions.

                        hot ice / allan,

Thanks for the info. I've done what you suggested. Uploaded POIs from my map for the meantime. I just thought that I can contribute a functioning routable map. Turns out that there is no way to do that here. Anyway, I have uploaded before the compiled IMG file and if someone wants to use it, he can process it to produce a mapset and then load it independently on his device. No harm doing it if someone wants to go around Batangas City. Thanks.

I don't think your Nuvi 200 supports tracks uploading. What you can upload using Mapsource are wayponts only. HTH.

"tracks" meaning the route or directions where you'll go? If I create a track (directions) from one point to the other, this will not be recognized by Nuvi200? Just confused with some of the terminolgies used like tracks vs waypoints vs POIs.

Tracks or breadcrumbs. These are your footprints.

You create a "route" with mapsource. A route is like a plan on what roads or path to take. You cannot create "tracks" with mapsource as tracks are created by a GPS logger (a GPSr that creates or logs your footprints. The Nuvi 200 does not have this feature).

If you create a route in mapsource and upload it to your Nuvi 200, the route will not be recognized by the Nuvi.

Waypoints are specific points or locations or coordinates in your tracks or routes. POI is Point of Interest or "Favorites" in your Nuvi.

I hope this clear things up.
