SCTEX is really the best and fastest way , its just sad about the pot holes. You can just expect them when you come up to a bridge. They do have warning cones and you get diverted to one lane.

I'll be driving from Clark to Subic on 24 Sept and can give an update on the potholes. Yesterday had some heavy rain and one car was upside down and another one in the ditch further on ... guess they don't know about aquaplaning???

Not significantly but if you keep a close eye out the few are visible. Drove it again yesterday and many of the potholes have been filled in! Makes the tolls worthwhile
